I attend a church named the Rankin Moffit Memorial Meeting House, or just the Meeting House for short. The people here are from many different denominations and there is no main denomination, although we are all Protestants and the missionaries here were sent out from our home countries by Wycliffe Bible Translators. Having people from many different denominations and countries who all gather together to worship God despite their differences makes my church really special. Another special thing about about my church is that there are always people arriving and leaving for furloughs, so there are different people worshiping together and lots of new talent for worship. There are over 700 people from 19 countries that attend my church. As well as hosting church services, the Meeting House hosts plays, music concerts, days of prayer, school assemblies, skate nights, movie nights, memorial services, and branch conferences. It has been used for fifty years, and is showing its age. We sit on wooden benches. I love my church. I have attended the Meeting House since I was several weeks old, and have wonderful memories there. My church is so special because many people can worship God together without fighting about differences. Denomination is not important here; we all serve the same God. Our community here is unified, which shows Christ's love in action in the ministry of Bible translation here in Papua New Guinea.
That's my church. I've attended it all my life except for furloughs and love it!
